World of Warcraft Illidan Pop! Vinyl Review: The War Within Edition

For over two decades, Illidan Stormrage has been one of World of Warcraft's most iconic and controversial figures. From his tragic fall to his redemption arc, the Betrayer has captured the imagination of millions. Now, with the release of The War Within expansion, Funko has given this legendary demon hunter a new Pop! Vinyl that perfectly captures his essence. In this review, we'll dive deep into the design, quality, and collectibility of this must-have piece for any WoW fan.

Whether you're a seasoned collector or a newcomer to the world of Funko, this Illidan Pop! is a standout addition. We'll examine the sculpt, paint application, and how it compares to previous Illidan releases. Plus, we'll explore how it fits into the broader landscape of World of Warcraft collectibles, including some other exciting items you might want to check out.

Design and Sculpt: Capturing the Betrayer

The first thing you'll notice about this Illidan Pop! is the incredible attention to detail. Funko has managed to capture his menacing presence with a dynamic pose that shows him ready for battle. His iconic warglaives are sculpted with precision, and the intricate armor details are faithfully reproduced. The horns, tattoos, and glowing eyes all contribute to a figure that truly embodies the Lord of Outland.

The paint application is also top-notch. The metallic sheen on his armor and the subtle shading on his skin give the figure a premium feel. The eyes are particularly striking, with a bright glow that stands out even from a distance. This is a Pop! that looks great both in and out of the box, making it a versatile display piece.

• Dynamic pose with warglaives
• Intricate armor and horn details
• Glowing eyes for added effect

Comparing to Previous Illidan Pops

Funko has released several Illidan Pops over the years, but this The War Within edition sets a new standard. The previous versions, while beloved, lacked the fine details and dynamic energy of this new release. The sculpt is more refined, and the paint job is noticeably improved. For collectors who already own older Illidan figures, this one is a worthy upgrade.

It's also interesting to see how Funko has evolved its style. This Pop! feels more modern and in line with current collector expectations. The attention to detail is on par with some of the best figures in the Funko line, making it a standout piece in any World of Warcraft collection.

Collectibility and Value

As with any Funko Pop, the collectibility factor is high. This Illidan is part of The War Within wave, which is already generating buzz among fans. Given the popularity of the character and the quality of the figure, it's likely to become a sought-after item. Whether you're planning to keep it in the box or display it loose, it's a solid investment for your collection.

How to Display Your Illidan Pop!

Displaying your Illidan Pop! is half the fun. To make the most of its dynamic design, consider placing it at eye level on a shelf with good lighting. The glowing eyes will pop, and the warglaives will catch the light nicely. If you're an out-of-box collector, you might want to invest in a protective case to keep it dust-free and safe from accidental damage.

For those who prefer to keep their Pops in the box, the window display is well-designed and shows off the figure beautifully. The box art features The War Within branding, which adds a nice touch for fans of the expansion. Whichever way you choose to display it, this Illidan is sure to be a conversation starter.

In conclusion, the World of Warcraft Illidan Pop! Vinyl from The War Within is a fantastic addition to any collection.
