Learn what makes the Thrilljoy PIX! Adam Bomb a standout Garbage Pail Kids event exclusive, including edition size, chase potential, and buying tips.

Quick Answer

If you're after a standout Garbage Pail Kids collectible, the Thrilljoy PIX! Adam Bomb event exclusive is a limited run of 6,000 pieces with a rare 48-piece chase—worth targeting if you value scarcity and classic GPK charm.

Why Adam Bomb is a Collector Favorite

Adam Bomb is one of the most recognizable Garbage Pail Kids characters, and this PIX! figure captures his signature exploding head, baby face, navy suit, and the classic detonator button in hand. For fans of the original card series, this figure is a nostalgic nod to the 1980s gross-out humor that made GPK a phenomenon.

The event exclusive status adds another layer: it's not a standard retail release, so it carries a higher perceived value among collectors who track limited drops.

Edition Size and Chase Rarity

Limited to 6,000 pieces, this Adam Bomb PIX! is part of a numbered run that gives collectors a clear sense of scarcity. But the real draw is the ultra-rare 48-piece chase celebrating the 40th anniversary—a fraction of the total run, making it a true grail for dedicated hunters.

If you're after the chase, understand that odds are extremely low. Most buyers will receive the standard version, so decide upfront whether the chase potential justifies the price for you.

Event Exclusives vs. Regular Releases

Event exclusives like this one are typically only available at conventions or through specific retailer drops, which means they don't show up in standard retail channels. That limited distribution is a big reason why event exclusives often appreciate in value faster than regular releases.

However, the flip side is that you may pay a premium at resale, and availability can be unpredictable. If you're not attending the event, you'll need to act quickly when it drops online or be prepared to buy from secondary markets.

Decision Rules: Should You Buy the Adam Bomb PIX!?

  • If you're a GPK completionist: This is a core character with a faithful design, so it's a natural fit for any Garbage Pail Kids collection. Add it to your want list even if you're not chasing the chase.
  • If you're hunting the 48-piece chase: Understand that odds are extremely low; you're more likely to get the standard version. Decide if the thrill is worth the cost. Set a budget before buying to avoid overpaying for chase hopes.
  • If you're investing for resale: Event exclusives with low edition sizes often hold value, but market trends are unpredictable. Buy because you love the character, not just for profit. Keep the box in mint condition to preserve resale value.
