Masters of the Universe Skeletor Pop! Review: Until We Meet Again Meme Edition

If you've been anywhere near pop culture in the last few years, you've likely seen the 'Until We Meet Again' meme featuring Skeletor. Now, Funko has immortalized that moment in vinyl form with the Masters of the Universe Skeletor Pop! This review dives deep into the figure that has collectors buzzing.

From the iconic laugh to the perfectly captured pose, this Pop! is a love letter to fans of the original animated series and the viral meme. Let's break down what makes this Skeletor Pop! a standout addition to any collection.

Design and Detailing: A Meme Made Vinyl

The Skeletor Pop! captures the exact moment from the meme: the villain's head thrown back, mouth wide open in that unmistakable laugh. Funko has done an exceptional job translating a 2D meme into a 3D vinyl figure. The sculpt is sharp, with the cheekbones and skull-like features of Skeletor rendered with surprising detail for a Pop!.

The paint application is clean, with the classic blue and yellow color scheme of the character. The eyes are bright and expressive, adding to the humorous tone. The figure stands on a standard black base, but the dynamic pose makes it feel anything but static.

• Captures the viral 'Until We Meet Again' moment perfectly
• Detailed sculpt with clean paint application
• Dynamic pose that adds personality to any shelf

Packaging and Presentation

The window box is standard Funko fare, but the artwork on the side features Skeletor in a menacing pose that complements the figure inside. The back of the box shows the entire line-up, which is a nice touch for collectors who want to complete the set.

The box is sturdy and collector-friendly, with no damage out of the box. The plastic window is clear and shows the figure off well, making it great for in-box collectors. The design also includes the 'Until We Meet Again' phrase subtly, tying the packaging to the meme.

The Meme Factor: Why This Pop! Stands Out

The 'Until We Meet Again' meme has become a staple in internet culture, often used to depict a dramatic or humorous exit. Having a physical representation of that moment is a brilliant move by Funko, and it's a conversation starter for any collection.

For fans of Masters of the Universe, this Pop! is a must-have because it captures a side of Skeletor that is both menacing and comical. It's a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern internet humor, making it appealing to both older fans and newer collectors who discovered the meme first.

Comparison with Other Skeletor Pops

There have been several Skeletor Pop! figures over the years, from the classic look to the more detailed versions. This meme edition stands out because of its unique pose and expression. While other versions are more static, this one feels alive with personality.

If you're a completionist, you'll want this one to sit alongside your other MOTU Pops. It's a different take on the character that adds variety to the display. Plus, the meme connection makes it a fun piece to show off to friends who might not be collectors.
